2007 MOVING FORWARDS

It was decided to label this year "moving forwards" to remind us that challenges can be met and achievements made.

The year started with a "launch" event in March to let supporters/friends and potential members know what was on the cards for the rest of the year. ABC also honoured their most staunch personal supporters Jim and Jessie McCormack, who happily took on the role of patrons. Their support, both personal and financial has been truly miraculous over the years.

The lottery funding paid for some drama training and 12 members undertook "DATES" drama training courses, gaining certificates in Trust, Imagination, Communication, Working Together, Inclusion and Leadership. Cally developed and delivered the courses as the result of a Millennium Trust/Scotland Unltd Social Entrepreneurs Award.
Volunteers also received training in administrative, financial and project planning.
The other big project funded by the Lottery was the summer Festival of Ability, which became the pilot project FAIR PLAY DRAMA. True to form, ABC members engaged in social issues for the dramatic inclusive "sharings" with Cally scripting two short dramas on fair trade issues "Go Bananas" and "Wake up and Smell the Coffee" Members old and new enthusiastically put the message across to full houses.
