Bamboo
Grove Theatre Company was founded in 2002 by Cally Phillips, from
a base in South West Scotland in order to create new work in non-
traditional theatre environments, focussing on inclusion and partnership
working with people who don't normally get to participate in drama.
Bamboo Grove was about finding a way to make drama part of everyday
life experience- always believing that "the destination is
in the journey". Over its four year lifespan Bamboo Grove's
achieved the writing of over 100 new dramatic pieces with over 20
performances and more than 200 drama workshop sessions undertaken. Bamboo Grove was set up as a site specific company and with Cally moving on from Dumfries and Galloway, the company ceased to exist. Below you can see some of the highlights of what was achieved.
